The Ache of Home

Hey friends,

Maya Angelou once said “The ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.”

And I think that sums up so beautifully why you must leave home.

Without leaving home you do not get questioned.

You do not have to answer why you have certain morals, values and beliefs because the people around you share them to.

It’s not until you leave that people question your actions and words.

Then you are forced to evaluate yourself and why you are who you are.

Everyone longs for that safe space but the majority fall into the trap of comfortability.

A place where they don’t need to grow, change or develop because no one will question them.

But that is the most dangerous place to be in.

Never reach your potential, dreams, or goals because you are “safe”.

It has been 9 months since I left “home” and I am grateful every day that I had the chance to leave my safe space and be questioned.

If I hadn’t I would be living a completely different life out of habit and not out of passion.

Have you ever left that safe space, have you ever truly been questioned?

All my love,

Kaila 💌
