The Beauty Around You

Dear Reader,

I write this to you from my new balcony looking out onto the island’s fields and farms and am filled with such gratitude. Gratitude for the endless opportunities I know I can freely discover. Gratitude for the friendships that are still flourishing despite our geographical status. Gratitude for living a beautiful, healthy, and adventurous life. Life really is so much more beautiful when you step back and be grateful for the small things each day. Things that we brush past or ignore like how the sun comes out and shines upon us, how incredible it is that there are millions of musicians releasing music for every single mood you are feeling, or how the ocean refreshes you - even just by looking at it let alone actually hopping in.

there is beauty around you,

please can’t you see,

the farms and skies and oceans and trees,

there’s nowhere else I want to be.

there is beauty around me,

it gives me strength and peace.

the sun, the stars and the moon,

dancing in her perfect harmony.

I want to encourage you to step back and see the beauty around you.
