Sow a Smile

Dear Reader,

While in England I visited a Glow Church UK Sunday morning service. I was amazed at how similar the atmosphere is to Glow Church Gold Coast and it made me feel like I was back at home for a moment.

Ps Andrew Cherrie shared a great sermon on “Sowing and Reaping” and while I took away many things, one phrase stood out to me.

“Sow a smile”

Growing up in Australia it is common for you to smile as you walk past strangers, smile at the cashier, smile and wave while you are driving but since living in Europe I have not had the same experience. It is rare for someone to smile back here and I realised it lowers my mood when that happens. As a result, I have smiled less and less at strangers.

“Sow a smile” reminded me to be a light in that stranger’s day and sow a simple seed of joy.

My challenge is how many seeds of joy can you sow by smiling at a stranger this week?
