Visions > Feelings
Dear Reader,
A lesson I am learning right now is to stop letting my feelings and emotions guide my actions. I have relied far too long on my feelings to decide what to do each day, what to eat each meal and how to simply live each moment. It wasn’t getting me where I wanted to go or often left me feeling worse.
Looking back to last year I feel like letting my feelings guide me was robbing me of my fullest potential.
Fast forward to now, and I am letting my goals and visions guide me.
This looks like going on runs or working out daily because my goal is to complete the Gozo 10km Race which is aligned with my vision of being the strongest and fittest version of myself.
This also looks like jumping into the Mediterranean Sea almost every day because my goal is to be physically and mentally healthy and I know the positive mental and physical effect it has on me even tho in the moment I don’t feel like it because it is cold or windy, etc.
Another one I am loving is turning all my devices on do not disturb an hour or more before going to bed and just reading (a novel or poetry) til I naturally fall asleep. When I started doing this one I would much rather just watch Netflix and I would be up to ungodly hours of the night and having broken sleep but now I get to sleep at a reasonable time and feel refreshed in the morning.
So please stop letting your feelings guide you and start living so you can see your goals and visions come to life.
